Well it was a short lived day for us at Roebling Road this weekend. In the first session of the day the car ran dry of oil and the damage was already done by the time the oil light came on or we had any indications. Hopes were high at first as we began to look over the engine and test it, but when we brought the RMPs of the car up to about 3,000 we could hear for certain that rod knock was present and the weekend was over for us.

The car came back and has been checked over. Everything looks good to go and is loaded up on the truck and trailer. Tomorrow afternoon we will begin the drive to Bloomingdale, Georgia for the Roebling Road Rumble.

The car was sent off to the shop today for an alignment and when it returns we should be ready to load it onto the trailer and head out to Bloomingdale, Georgia on Friday for the Roebling Road Rumble at Roebling Road with NASA Southeast. Most everything at this point is packed and ready to be load with a few minor exceptions (food and clothing mostly). The car felt real good last night when the final items were finished up and we can not wait to get out on track and learn some more and drive a new track. Be sure to stop on by and visit us if you are out there. we will try to post updates from the track if the wireless Internet connection is available throughout the week. We will try our best to update on here at our It's My Honda page and on our MySapce page.

We just got a product in today for the car and we have to send a big thanks out to Brent Knoll (f1rocks) over at Trackpedia. We stumbled upon Brent and his products over on the Trackpedia forums. We have been looking for a solution to towing on the track if and when the time comes for it. After much research we decided to go with a bump draft tow strap. We were originally going to go with a U-bolt solution and then came across Brent and his bump draft straps. They are made of a Nomex outer sheath with a Kevlar center. He sells them for $15.00 plus $7.00 shipping. You honestly cannot beat the price and quality ratio on these as most "racer shops" charge around $30.00 per strap and they are not made of the same materials as these. If you are interested in these bump draft straps you can contact Brent at brent.knoll at gmail dot com. When you email him please let him know that you read and heard about his products from JB (tmitbyh).

After many delays we are finally making headroom. The car is in a position to be completed before the next event at the end of the month. We have missed the last two events due to set backs with schedule conflicts but are on track finally to have the car make an appearance at an event. We missed the event in June at Carolina Motorsports Park due to a schedule conflict as well as a setback with the engine. When we got back in to town the Friday of the event a coolant leak was discovered at the water pump. Due to schedule conflicts in July the car sat most of the month waiting to be worked on. The car finally got the work it was needing this past weekend. The water pump issue has been fixed as the gasket was pinched and leaking when installed previously. The exhaust and shift linkage were put back in place and bolted up. With that in place all that was left was to throw the new rotors and brake pads on the car. This lead us into the next set back as the incorrect front brake pads were sent from the company we ordered from. Sure enough both sets of the front pads were incorrect. Now the car sits waiting for a refund on those brake pads so a better set of track pads can be ordered instead. In the mean time we are hoping to install the new rear pads and rotors on the car the weekend of September 22-23 as well as the new front rotors and a set of street pads that are laying around the garage. We really hope to get this done so the car can go to the shop and be aligned for the Roebling Road Rumble at Roebling Road Raceway with NASA Southeast.
